About Us/Contact

I'm Jen. My reasons for homeschooling are varied. I'm nervous and exited.

I'm happily married to a pretty awesome guy, and mama to two girls: Pia, aged 4, and Nana, aged 6. No, those aren't their real names, we use nicknames to protect their privacy.

We're using a unit based learning approach, which means picking topics my girls are already interested in, and learning things they "need" to learn within those units. We'll touch on spelling, geography, history, reading, phonics, math, and all that good stuff while learning about things they want to know more about. This is in an effort to keep learning fun and exciting for them.

I won't publish our units until we complete them, in an effort to share what did or did not work for us.

Please click on the "printables" tab to access the worksheets I've created myself. If you have a question/suggestion in regards to those, or just want to chat, please email me. Please don't reproduce them outside of personal use.

Hi, I'm Cyn, but I post as veganbaby here. I am a fulltime nursing student. My husband, Head Zombie, works full time as an analyst and runs a vegan food truck on the weekends. Together, he and I will be children's guide in their journey.

My two homeschoolers are Bobo, 4 and M, 6.  M tried kindergarten and said it wasn't for her.

We are doing a mixture of unit learning and curriculum.  For our math curriculum we chose RightStart. I picked up a  handwriting workbook at the used homeschool.  Funny thing is I remember using it in school.  I also found a few readers that I use for reading comprehension.  For the rest of the subjects we draw from the units.  Although for science, we get our ideas from outside media such as Magic School Bus, the internet , Bill Nye the Science guy, and 321 Contact.

Like Jen, I'm a fan of worksheets. I know many homeschoolers figure why bother, but I have fun creating them, so feel free to print for your personal use.  I also welcome feedback, suggestions or just conversation so email me.
